Feralis Project

A New Paradigm of Coexistence Between Humans, Animals and Nature

Discover Our Vision Support the Project

Not a Traditional Sanctuary

Feralis is a radical space integrating refuge, ecological restoration, and education. A place where:

  • Animals live with dignity in restored environments,
  • New forms of coexistence are researched,
  • Practical training is offered for caregivers and rescuers.

Feralis was born from a conviction: we need spaces that embody another way of inhabiting the world—where animals are not "resources" but beings with language, bonds, and rights. Where restoring the land also means healing our relationships.

In a world intent on division, Feralis strives to prove another sensibility is possible. Though the path is long, every workshop, article, book, and conversation plants seeds of change.

A Model of Restoration

The Feralis Project is a holistic initiative combining three interconnected dimensions:

Rescue & Care

Providing refuge for horses and dependent animals with species-appropriate habitats and respectful care practices.

Ecological Regeneration

Restoring degraded lands through regenerative forestry, soil recovery, and native planting practices.

Education & Training

Offering ethical and technical training for animal welfare advocates, rescuers, and sanctuary workers.

Feralis addresses three interconnected crises:

  • Ecological: Restoring ecosystems through regenerative forestry, soil recovery, and native planting.
  • Educational: Offering free, accessible training for sanctuary workers, emphasizing respect and observation.
  • Animal Welfare: Providing refuge for exploited/abandoned animals in a conscious, organized manner.

Feralis is a living space where humans and animals heal, learn, and transform their relationships with non-human life and the Earth itself. Beyond a physical sanctuary, it's an educational, ecological, and cultural project sowing new paradigms of coexistence.

At its heart lies the Horses and Dependent Animals Studies program, offering online and in-person courses grounded in ethics and respect.

Feralis is more than a place—it's a replicable model of restoration, education, and deep care, where every being (animal, plant, human) can thrive with dignity.

Project Phases

1

Research & Planning

Sanctuary design, regenerative strategies, curriculum development, and establishing partnerships with academic institutions and ecological organizations.

2

Land Acquisition

Securing terrain that meets environmental and logistical criteria—adequate size, water sources, biodiversity potential, and accessibility for educational activities.

3

Sanctuary Creation & Ecological Restoration

  • Building shelters and grazing spaces
  • Launching native species planting and soil recovery
  • Welcoming rescued animals
  • Horses as ecological agents: Inspired by Przewalski's horse reintroduction, Feralis horses will aid restoration through rotational grazing, seed dispersal, and trail creation
4

Collaboration & Monitoring

  • International partnerships with universities/sanctuaries
  • Government alliances for policy support
  • Impact assessments to refine practices
  • Documentation of ecological and behavioral changes
5

Expansion

Scaling the sanctuary and school based on lessons learned, developing satellite projects, and creating a network of Feralis-inspired centers globally.

Vision & Objectives

Vision

A global model of respectful coexistence, where horses and dependent animals live with dignity while actively regenerating ecosystems.

Goals

  • Ensure animal welfare through safe, species-appropriate habitats
  • Restore degraded ecosystems via regenerative practices
  • Train caregivers through free, science-backed programs
  • Advance research on ecological and animal well-being impacts
  • Build international networks to amplify the model
  • Promote ethical human-nonhuman relationships

Why This Project Is Urgent

Animal Welfare

Offers refuge for exploited animals, free from abuse, where they can live according to their nature and form authentic bonds with humans based on respect rather than use.

Ecological Healing

Counters biodiversity loss through regenerative practices, creating corridors for wildlife and demonstrating practical solutions to environmental degradation.

Education

Equips global caregivers with respectful, evidence-based tools, creating a network of trained professionals who can implement ethical animal care practices worldwide.

In a world facing climate collapse, Feralis proposes a tangible alternative—one that slows environmental degradation and fosters harmony with nature. This is not just a local effort but part of a global movement for a sustainable future.
